Eariler this season I sent out an e-mail about the National
YMCA Virtual Invitational Meet with information to follow.
Well here it is, we are able to hold the meet at the Hanover
pool on Wednesday October 21st.
First I need to reach out to you as parents for your
time. We NEED VOLUNTEERS.
We
will need these positions: Head Offical, Stroke and Turn
Officals, Timers at least 12 people, Parking
attendent, a runner which collects the sheets after each
event and if interested in learning the Colorado system at
least 2 people ( Julie will be running the system and willing to
teach). This is a GREAT way to learn how meets work and a
chance to help your child’s team.
We
are offering for Mini and Glod groups 3 events per swimmer.
For all Age group swimmers we are offering 3 events per
swimmer. For the Senior groups and for National
swimmers there are only 2 events per swimmer.
If
your child wants to swim in this YMCA Virtual Meet please let us
know no later than Monday. This will be held during practice
times so it is real important we know how many swimmers want to
swim.
Please have your kids at the Hanover Pool on Wednesday the 21st
of October, at 4:30 pm. There will be someone there to welcome you
and send you to the lobby. From there your children will be
entering the pool through the emergency door through the
lobby. We will have warm ups starting at 5:00 pm. and
the meet will start right at 6:00 pm. This is a great chance
for the younger swimmers who have not yet been able to swim at a
meet to swim. Also a HUGE chance for the whole team to come
together. This meet will only be our team, but thre results
will be shared with the rest of the YMCA’s who will be taken
part in this from across the country.
I am
very excited to see our whole team come together to be apart of
History, this is the FIRST time the YMCA’s across the country
is trying a meet like this.
The
event list will be e-mailed out by Julie.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
I
was at a retreat over the last couple of days and learned that what
ever we can do to help really makes a difference. I like making a
difference.
