Summer Strypers Parent Meet Commitment:
Every parent is involved in our organization through the swimmer-coach-parent relationship. As a Summer Strypers Parent your helping with meets is the only way we can run and have successful meets. Some of the jobs you might be asked to perform are: timer, runner, strokes & turn judge, place judge, ribbons, deck supervisor, computer assistance, Colorado operator, concession stand or any other job assigned by a coach. You will be asked to volunteer at at least 3 meets and at championships.
Packing your swimmer for meets:
The 2-3 hour meets can be made easier when you keep in mind the following: Two towels, two pairs goggles, drinks- water, sports drinks, juice—no soda please, Team suit and cap, extra pants and sweatshirt for on-deck, and sun block.
Notice that snacks and candy are not on the above list as no food is allowed on deck at most pools. Swimmers may visit parents during the meet after clearing it with a coach to have a quick snack. We cannot guarantee the safety of possessions at meets or at practice (ie- cell phones, video games, Ipods, etc.) During swim meets, swimmers must sit with the team. Our pool in Hanover and each pool we visit have appropriate places for spectators (except at championships).
Direction to Away meets:

From Route 3: Take exit 15 Hingham/So. Weymouth. If coming South from Quincy- Turn right onto Derby St; if coming from North from Hanover, go left onto Derby St. Go straight at the light at Derby Shops. At next light, go left onto Cushing Street. Take left onto Rt 53/Whiting Street. Take first right onto Old Ward Street, where road bears off to the right, go straight to BRCC on left.
